Welcome to our Summer Reading Program informational page. Each year, Mama Pajama’s Playhouse supports New York State Libraries in promoting summer reading to children all over Central New York. Ever since she first learned about this wonderful initiative, Mama has created a brand-new show every year to celebrate the yearly theme. There’s nothing that she loves more than curling up with a good book, and she knows that libraries are a fantastic (and FREE!) resource that make communities stronger. At her shows, she actively encourages her young fans to visit their local library, get to know their librarian personally, and to read as often as they possibly can. This is especially important during the summer months, as it helps to keep children’s minds stimulated and avoid “summer set-back.” Below you will find samples of recent Summer Reading Program themes, and the shows created by Mama Pajama for each one. The hyperlinks bring up the corresponding flyers/brochures that we used each year. In the very near future, we will also be uploading some fun photographs and video clips from these SRP performances, so check back for updates!
