FAQ - Answers to questions people ask us the most

Hi Friends.

Here are some answers to questions we get asked all the time.  Some of them are great logical questions, some… well, we’ll let you decide.

Q. “Is there an actual playhouse?”

A.   Yes and no.  In the beginning, Mama Pajama performed shows in her home for small audiences.  So, at one time, there was an actual playhouse.  These days, Mama Pajama and her band perform in a variety of locations, but you can be assured her living room is not one of them.

Q. “That’s such a cute name.  How did you come up with that?

A.  Well, in late 2006, Kim Privler gave thought to opening her own home daycare and calling it “Mama Pajama’s Playhouse,”.  Even though she chose entertainment, she still ran her business from home in her jammies…the Playhouse part stayed as well because Kim began by performing story times and small concerts right in her very own living room.

Q. “Is Rockin’ Raabe related to Mama Pajama?”

A.   Well, this question is up there in the top five for all-time most asked and most humorous to all of us here at MPP.  Yes.  Rockin’ Raabe is related to Mama Pajama.  Rockin’ Raabe is Mama Pajama’s real life son.

Q. “What kinds of shows do you do?”

A.  Mama Pajama’s Playhouse offers Literacy and Reading Programs, Educational Programming, and Entertainment Services.  You can listen to Mama Pajama for a Story-Time, catch a live music concert, or experience a combination of terrific interactive music and stories.  We do seasonal shows, shows with an educational theme, sing-a-long shows, and of course, our super popular rest time shows.

Q. “Where can I see you perform?”

A.  MPP (Mama Pajama’s Playhouse) performs at Libraries, Preschools, Daycares, Nursery Schools, Elementary Schools, Moms and Play Group Events, Fairs, Festivals, Camps, Expos, Parks and Recreation Programs, Orchards, Pumpkin Patches, Restaurants, Bounce Houses, Community Events, and YES at a ton of Birthday Parties.  We perform pretty much anywhere you find kids.

Q. “How much do your shows cost?” (from parents)

A.  MPP’s public shows are often free for you and your kids to attend, as our fee is usually paid by the venue (library, school, etc.).  We do sometimes perform at festivals or events where you might have to purchase tickets to enter, but then our show would be included as part of the purchase price.  The only time there would be a fee is for a private function like a birthday party.  If you have any questions about specific shows and related fees, please feel free to contact us any time at (315) 752-9565.

Q. “We love your music…can we buy CD’s or download songs?”

A.  VERY soon, we promise.  The CD will be packed with all your favorite original Mama Pajama songs.  We’ll also have our music available for download.  Check back often, as we’ll make the big announcement here first once everything is available.  In the meantime, please listen to our music on our music page.
